IMPORTANT

Please read these terms before using our services. When you use our services, you agree to them.

By using our services, you are also agreeing to our Website Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policies.

We review and update these regularly.

What Constitutes “Services”

Our services cover all that we currently offer our customers. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Plastering
  • Tiling
  • Joinery & Carpentry
  • Heating, Plumbing & Gas
  • Electric
  • Window Fitting
  • Fences
  • Decorators
  • Odd Jobs
  • Kitchen Fitting
  • Bathroom Fitting
  • General Building Work

In this document, “Us/We/Our” refers to Quick Fix. “You” refers to you, the customer (the person or organisation for which we carry out our services and materials).  “Trade partner/tradesperson/tradespeople” refers to the representative(s) appointed by Quick Fix.

Quick Fix reserves the right to refuse or decline to undertake any work. Quick Fix reserves the right, at our discretion, to designate the trade partner/tradesperson/tradespeople who will represent us.

Costs

Quotes will be sent on email or post for customer along with T&C's. Prices quoted are valid for 14 days.

Unless otherwise specified, all cost details provided on the basis of the information provided by you, the Customer.

For lager projects i.e. Large building works, bathroom and kitchen fit outs etc. we will send a representative around to carry put a survey and assess the job and provide a more accurate estimate of works.

Any costs provided by the Quick Fix will be revised in the following circumstances:

The customer instructs the company in writing to provide additional works or services not referenced or detailed during the telephone call/email/enquiry form.

If there is an increase in the cost of materials to be supplied.

If further works are discovered which had not been anticipated.

Payments

Upon your agreement for us to carry out work, full payment is required immediately via debit/credit card or bank transfer. Unless the job is considered a larger project were by the payment terms below apply.

For bookings over £1,000.00 a 50% deposit is required upon confirmation and the balance is due on completion. Payment can be made by debit, credit card or bank transfer.

Any additional charges including materials and additional labour will be invoiced upon job completion and payment is required within 48 hours.

Please note we do not except cash or cheque payment.

Third Parties

Where the customer is represented by a third-party person(s) or agent(s) (such as a managing agent, landlord, tenant or other occupier, friend, family, contractor or other representative), in the event of non-payment by the customer, the third party will be responsible for full payment unless the company has agreed otherwise prior to any works commencing.

Access to Property

You agree to give us access to the relevant property at the agreed time. Failure to do so will be deemed a cancellation and no refunds will be offered.

Other Charges: New Builds

You will only be charged for the time spent related to your work. All other time, i.e. lunch breaks, is non-chargeable. All charges are subject to VAT at the prevailing rate, except in cases where the work carried out is zero rated.

Material Collection

Collection of non-stock items is chargeable, however:

  • Time taken will be kept to a minimum and within reason and should not exceed one hour.
  • If this takes longer than one hour, we will inform you in advance.
  • Only one tradesperson is permitted to leave the job to collect required materials/parts.

Material Removal

Skip hire is not included in the cost quoted. Clients are ask to source and arrange their own skip hire directly and ensure a skip is available, if needed at the start of the job.

Punctuality

Where the date and/or time for work to be carried out is agreed, we will endeavour to ensure the tradesperson attends. If there is a delay, we will inform you.

We accept no liability in respect of the non-attendance or late attendance on site of the tradesperson, or for the late or non-delivery of materials.

We will not be liable for any delay, or for the consequences of any delay, in performing any of our obligations if such delay is due to any circumstances beyond our reasonable control. We are entitled to a reasonable extension of the time for performing such obligations.

Cancellation

If you need to cancel or re-arrange your appointment, you must notify us either by telephone or by email at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. Or by 5pm on a Friday for Monday appointments.

Cancellations made further in advance should also be made by telephone and by email.

Refunds for cancellations are limited to 50% of the costs paid if the cancellation is made 14 days or less from the appointment time.

If you cancel your instructions immediately before the work being carried out, or materials being supplied, then no refunds are offered.

If you wish to cancel 14 days or longer before your appointment date, then a refund will be offered less 10% for administration purposes.

If the appointment is for emergency repairs, this is exempt from the cooling off period.

Satisfaction

In the unlikely event that you are not satisfied with the works carried out by us, you must provide us with written notice within two week to our customer services team; info@quickfix.co.uk.

You must allow us, and our insurers, the opportunity to both inspect and carry out remedial work where appropriate. If you fail to notify us, as outlined above, then we will not be liable in respect of any defects in the work carried out.

Guarantees

Quick Fix offers a 12 month guarantee on labour carried out by a Quick Fix trades partners, in respect of faulty workmanship only. This is active from the date of completion of work, and is in addition to any manufacturer’s warranty/warranties.

The guarantee will become null and void if the work/appliance completed/supplied by us is subject to misuse or negligence or repaired, modified or tampered with by anyone other than Quick Fix trade partner.

We will accept no liability for, or guarantee suitability, materials supplied by you and accept no liability for any consequential damage or fault.

We are unable to guarantee any blockages in waste or drainage systems. Work is only guaranteed in respect of work directly undertaken by us and with full payment having been made by you. Any non-related faults arising from recommended work which has NOT been undertaken by us will not be guaranteed. Where we agree to carry out work on installations of inferior quality (or over 10 years old) no warranty is given in respect of such work and we accept no liability in respect of the effectiveness of such work or otherwise.

Defects

Quick Fix undertakes to make good and repair any defect in completed work, which appears within 3 months of the completion date, to the extent that such defect arises from the breach of the companies’ obligations under this contract.

All defects must be notified to the company by the customer in writing within this period, and the company and its insurers must be provided the opportunity to inspect the work and any alleged defect.

This inspection shall only apply to work carried out and completed by the company that has been paid in full by the customer.

Following the inspection and if it transpires the alleged defect is not the result of any work or service carried out or provided by the company, the company reserves the right to make a charge to the customer for the inspection visit at its standard rate.

The company reserves the right to not carry out any work where the customer cannot provide sufficient evidence that the work was originally carried out by the company, or where full payment has not been received for said work.

Exclusions are:

Any parts or materials supplied by the company will only be provided with the manufacturers or suppliers guarantee, and are not guaranteed by the company.

Any systems or structures which have not been installed by the company

Any defects resulting from the misuse, wilful act or faulty workmanship by the customer or any other third party working for or under the direction of the customer.

Any structural defects, such as but not limited to subsidence and its resultant effect.

Any damage to drainage systems caused by any outside force or root penetration.

Liability

We will only be liable for rectifying our own guaranteed work.

We will not be held responsible for any ensuing damage or claims resulting from other work overlooked or subsequently requested and not undertaken at the time.

We will not be held liable or responsible for any damage or defect resulting from work not fully guaranteed, or where recommended work has not been carried out. Work will not carry a guarantee where you have been notified by the tradesperson either verbally or indicated in ticked boxes or in our comments/recommendations.

We shall not be held liable for any delay, or consequences of any delay, in performing our obligations if such a delay is due to any cause beyond our reasonable control and we shall be entitled to reasonable time extensions.

We will be entitled to fully recover the costs or damages from any tradesperson whose negligence or faulty workmanship makes us liable to pay for those damages or rectification of work.

You will be solely liable for any hazardous situation in respect of the Gas Safe Regulations or any Gas Warning Notice issued by a Quick Fix tradesperson. Our tradespeople operate under their own individual Gas Safe Registration and, as such, are solely responsible for any gas related work and subsequent liability.

Title to Goods 

Goods supplied and delivered by us to you, or your premises, shall remain our property until paid for by you in full. Whilst goods remain our property, we have the absolute authority to:

  • Retake, sell or otherwise deal with or dispose of all or any part of these goods.
  • Enter any premises, at any time and without notice, in which goods or any part thereof is installed, stored or kept, or is reasonably believed so to be.
  • Seek a court injunction to prevent you from selling, transferring or otherwise disposing of such goods.

The risk in such goods will pass to you on delivery to you. You must insure them at replacement value, and if asked you must produce evidence that they are properly insured.

Data Protection

We will use the date you provide to us only until it has fulfilled its purpose i.e. length of enquiry, length or job or for guarantee purposes (this will not exceed 12 months from job completion).  We will only pass your data i.e., name, address and telephone number to our selected trade partners who will be working directly for you and need this information to access your property. Your data will not be passed onto any other person or organisation.

General

These terms and conditions may not be released, discharged, supplemented, interpreted, varied or modified in any manner except by an instrument in writing signed by a duly authorised representative and you. Our terms and conditions will prevail over any terms and conditions used by you or contained, set out or referred to in any documentation sent to us by you. By entering into a contract with us you agree irrevocably to waive the application of any of these terms and conditions.

These terms and conditions, and all contracts awarded between us and you, shall be governed and construed in accordance with English law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English law.
